Reading Through the Bible in One Year

I'll be the first to tell you that I'm not a reader. I don't like reading and a 12 chapter book may take me months to complete. Our church did a read through the bible in one year thing a couple years ago. I made it about a month before I found other things to occupy that brief time each day.

I follow New Living Translation (NLT) on Facebook and love it because they post scriptures often. It's a great way to get some scripture reading done while doing things I would usually do on Facebook anyway. I'd love to get a One Year Bible from NLT and see if I could stick to it and complete it in a year. There is so much truth in the Bible that I know I still have to unlock!

NLT is running a contest on their Facebook page called Give The Word. This contest gives you the chance to win prizes like a free download of Matthew West reading the Christmas story, NLT Study Bibles for you and someone you know, $250 worth of NLT products for a local ministry, or a trip to Wycliffe Bible Translators world headquarters. To enter, you just have to vote on which ministry you would like to receive a grant. So, not only can you win, but they're giving away grants to three different ministries (Wycliffe Bible Translators, Oasis International, The Dream Center).

If you follow their Facebook page, they also run other contests like Thursday giveaways. Today's giveaway is through their blog and gives you a chance to win one of two NLT One Year Bibles! Hurry and get your entries in for that one as well! In fact, maybe if you win one of the One Year Bibles, we can figure out some way to keep each other accountable to finishing it in one year!

Disclaimer: I wrote this post in part to enter the Thursday Giveaway at NLT Blog.
